The Corporation will execute the projects so far identified and will also be involved in the planning and development of Mumbai Suburban Rail system. Any infrastructure project in Mumbai demands the inevitable the involvement of Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). The authority plans and executes various infrastructural development projects.

The Maharashtra Housing Board formerly called “Bombay Housing Board” and presently known as Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) was established in and had a jurisdiction over the entire State of Maharashtra except Vidharbha.
