Inclusive Education is the right of every child. The remedial and the counseling cell at Activity High School works at exercising this right.
We respect individual differences when it comes to learning. We test the child to discover the strengths and the areas that need to be strengthened.
Our counseling cell deals with the child's emotional well-being, helping him to manage stress with ease.
Today we are dealing with over 54 students from Montessori to Std. X, with only one aim in our mind - Help the child to be a part of our excellent Inclusive Education.
Counseling cell at Activity High School
Activity High School Counseling Centre was started in 1998 to help students learn healthy ways to deal with the struggles and conflicts that they face constantly ^ both socially and academically which affect their self esteem and self confidence. The goal is to invite these students to understand that the environment (external) will essentially remain the same, in the process to learn ways to get their needs met and to actualize their potential to the maximum.
The parents and teachers are also invited to understand the role they play in the life of these students and how they could contribute healthy to help him/her cope with whatever that he/she is dealing with.
The mode of therapy is essentially Play Therapy, as play is the Child's natural medium of expression, where in an opportunity is given to the child to play out his feelings and problems and in the process recognize that he does not have to continue with earlier, unhealthy ways to get what he wants but to discover healthy & good feelings within him- an intrinsic part of his being- which he may not be in touch with.
FAMILY SERVICE CENTRE (FSC)
oversees and co-ordinates the activities at Activity High School Counseling Centre through the Counselor Ms. Nimisha Kamat. Ms Kamat is in school (by appointment only) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 11am - 3 pm. Referral can be made by parents, teachers and the students via the Principal, Mrs. Bagli.
Extra-curricular activities
Activity High School endeavors to lighten the heavy academic burden by interspersing each school term with interesting and fun-filled activities, both at the intra-school and inter-school levels. These activities bring to the fore diverse skills and talents that lie within our students and they bring a warm feeling of proud achievement in their innocent hearts.
Source of the activities are - Photography, Book review competition, English & Hindi debates, Creative Writing competition, English & Hindi Poetry Elocution, Inter house Quiz competition, art & Craft competition, Hand-writing competition and Spelling Bee.
We also encourage research as self-study - the best form of Education. To encourage this, students of Std. X prepare projects on subjects of their choice.
