Octogenarian Minoo Shroff holds a place of pride in the Parsi as well as other communities with his several achievements leading a very active public life even today.
He is a well-known Economist, a Financial Consultant of repute, an ardent Promoter of Bilateral and Multi-lateral Trade between nations. He is a Chartered Global Management Accountant from (London), Fellow of the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants (India) and Fellow of the Institute of Directors, London. During the peak of his career he has been a director of over 35 companies.
He has been the President of Bombay Management Association, All India Manufacturers' Organization, Indo-Japanese Association and Bombay Parsi Punchayet. He was Trustee of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet from 1986 to 2003 and was Chairman from 2003 to 2008. He played an active role in setting up the Fertility Clinic for the Parsi community to address the problem of declining numbers among Parsis.
He was invited as Business Leader by the Government of Japan in 1980. For his outstanding contribution in promoting business and friendships with Japan, in 2003, the Emperor of Japan conferred on him the award "THE ORDER OF THE RISING” SUN, GOLD RAYS WITH NECK RIBBON".
Widely travelled he has participated in and presented papers at various international conferences organized by Harvard Business School, I.L.O. Geneva, Financial Times (London), Business International (USA), Indo. Japanese Business Council (Tokyo/Yokohoma) and to the China Business Summit.
Actively involved in public life for the last four decades. Mr. Shroff is currently the President of the Forum of Free Enterprise and Chairman & Managing Trustee of A.D. Shroff Memorial Trust, Chairman of Leslie Sawhny Programme of Training for Democracy, President of Indo-lranian Friendship Society and Global President of World Zarathushti Chamber of Commerce.
To rekindle the spark of entrepreneurship amongst Parsis, he played a leading role in setting up a Venture Capital Fund. He is currently the Chairman of the Zoroastrian Investment Corporation Pvt. Ltd. which provides financial support for budding entrepreneurs.
He has been the leading light of the Indo Iranian Friendship Society since 2003. He was invited to visit Iran in 2006 by the Government of Iran and honoured for his very valuable contribution in expanding and strengthening relations between the two nations.
A man of sterling character and high integrity, he commands great respect and admiration. Despite his considerable achievements he wears a mantle of modesty and humility and is readily accessible to all those who seeks his counsel and support.
