
Mr. Marazban Dara Mehta, son of the famous Late Dara Mehta of Darling Orchestra first appeared on stage at a very young age of five. Over the years, he mastered various musical instruments like drums, percussion, rhythm congo, bongo, dholak and key-board etc. He also appeared at the Late Adi Marazban’s variety review show in the very first episode of “Avo Mari Sathe” broadcast on Doordashan Television.
He has been the leader in his own “Darling Orchestra”. His forte is singing duets in a combination of male and female voices. In August, 2001, he came out with his first music album “Chhaiye Hame Zarthosti” which is a collection of traditional Parsi religious and comedy songs and it was widely acclaimed in our Community. Since then he has been also associated with coaching of Parsi girls of Avabai Petit Girls School, Bandra, Parsi children of Pandey School, Tardeo and children on Tata Blocks Association, Bandra. He is also associated with Muncherji Joshi Dharmagnyan class, Dadar.
He has been associated with Zochild function since 2003, in presenting Parsi songs through children of various schools. In 2012, he has been awarded “Jewel of the Community” in music by Mr. Vispi Kapadia. Every month of first Sunday, he conducts Parsi Monajats along with Senior Citizen at Lalbaug Agiary Hall. Recently, he has been appointed as music director of very successful variety show “Laughter in the House” of Late Adi Marazban. He is also associated with “Navroze Dhamaka” functions for many years.
After having retired from Wadia group of companies as an Assistant Accounts Manager in May 2007, serving 40 years, he actively involved with “BASZA” (Borivali & Suburban Zoroastrian Association) as its Vice President.
He has always been the flavour of the evening at various events hosted by Orgsanization such as Lions Club, WZO India, Parsi Gymkhana, Marine Lines & Dadar, C.C.I. Club, Radio Club. His conducting Antakshari programme at BJPC (HPY) & various Parsi Colonies & Dharamshala, Sanatorium, J.J. Hospital (Parsi Ward) has been highly appreciated.
He also performs programmes at various Ghambars at very reasonable rate and also performs honorary at Parsi Dharamshalas etc.
