The New Activity School is a fully Air-conditioned ICSE School situated at Kemps Corner, N. S. Patkar Road, (near Khareghat Colony), Mumbai 400007. It is a co-educational institution with classes from Play Group (1 year 3 months) onwards to Std. IV. After Std. IV the children go to Activity High School on Navroji Gamadia Road (Off Peddar Road).
The New Activity School combines quality education with excellent extracurricular activities like Football, Athletics, Elocution, Yoga, Malakhamb, Gymnastics, Abacus, Karate and Indian Folk Dancing.
One of the highlights of this wonderful homely school are that during their bi annual CONCERT, every single child is put on stage to overcome stage fright, and get self confidence. Another highlight is the FOOD MELA. The children are encouraged to have stalls where they play games and eat yummy food.
The New Activity School was started 60 years ago on 3rd September, 1953, by a visionary, Late Mrs. Dolat H. Doongaji. She was a multi faceted lady who was an educationist par excellence. She had done her M.A. in Psychology and had completed her Montessori Degree in London. She had a Gold Medal from Kaivalya Dham in Lonavala for Yoga. She was a trained Manipuri Dancer too. She was the author of over 30 books for children and had written and adapted several plays for the school concert.
The school is very ably run by its Principal, Mrs. Hira A. Bhesania, M.A., and M.Ed, who has over 30 years of teaching and administrative experience. She brings into * ; the school new innovative ideas to help the children learn with joy - keeping the school motto in mind "We learn while we play." So the children are sent on regular field trips, excursions, outings and picnics almost every two months to get in touch with nature and imbibe a love for the outdoors.
The school gives admission to every Parsi child who applies. Free ships and concession in fees are also given to needy children.
