Dr. Jamshed Bunshah: Renowned orthopaedic surgeon

Monday, March 18, 2013

Dr. Jamshed Bunshah was born in a middle class family and is the younger of 2 brothers. He passed his ICSE in Feb. 1980 (1st class) and HSC in March 1992 (Securing 93%) and got into medicine in Sion Hospital (LTMGH).

In his final M.B.B.S. he stood 1st in Surgery and secured an Orthopaedic post. He cleared his M.S. (Orth) and D Orth exams with distinction and then worked as a Lecturer in Orthopaedics (In Nair Hospital from 1992-1994).

He went to the U.K. to specialise in Joint Replacement Surgery (1994-1996). Though he had the opportunity to settle aboard, he chose to come back to India, and has been practising as an Orthopaedic Surgeon since. He is attached to Parsee General Hospital, Saifee Hospital, Masina Hospital, S.R. Mehta Hospital and also operates at Cumballa Hill and Breach Candy Hospitals. He has numerous publications to his credit and has presented papers/lectures at National & International Conferences. He has been appointed by "ZIMMER" as a Consultant requiring to teach, hold workshops, and train surgeons in India and abroad.

"When asked about the secret of his success, this is what he has to say:
“There is no secret, it is only determination and lots of hard work. Believe in your abilities and  your dreams and then work hard to acheive them. No matter how brilliant  you are, without hardwork you will achieve nothing. Your destiny does not lie in your stars, but in your own hands. (Heights by great men, reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight But they, while their companions slept were toilling onwards in the night)”

And above all    have unwavering    faith in GOD.    Those who joyfully leave everything in God's hand will eventually see God's hand in every thing. Worries end where faith beings.
