By not declaring list of party candidates for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation election 2012, unlike other parties Shiv Sena played smart. Instead, the party asked individual candidate to go to the local election office and file their application on behalf of party which hindered commotion and fighting within the party over ticket.
In normal scenario, every political party declares their list of candidates a day prior to the deadline. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the first political party to declare their candidates list for the upcoming civic elections. Before the press conference of senior leaders over in the Nariman Point office, a party office in Chembur area was ransacked by the BJP party workers.
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray declared list of his candidate for the civic election. The very next day, his party workers who did not get a ticket disturbed the sound slumber of Raj Thackeray by protesting in front of his residence Krishna Kunj in Dadar.
Congress is yet to declare its list, yet there are some reports of commotion and round of speech between party workers and leaders. Only Sena played safe and did not declare the list of candidates and asked individual candidates to fill their application on their own instead.
