Enigmatic artist Satyajeet Varekar is continuing his series of paintings on fish markets in his latest exhibition in the city. With new fervour, fresh compositions and a novel approach to his work, he is celebrating the fishing community with this exhibition. Hailing from a rural village in Maharashtra known as Sangli, Satyajeet is a lecturer at Kalawishwa Mahavidyalay, has received a number of awards for his talent and organises several solo and group shows in India as well as abroad. It is an enigmatic experience to express and depict the same via paintings in a realistic manner.” With oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas and pastel on paper, he’s used a variety of colours to bring out the beauty and texture of his objects, which lends a special effect to his paintings.
