August Moon at the Taj
To eat great Chinese food, head to The Taj for their August Moon festivities. Chef Hemant Oberoi says, “August Moon is an auspicious occasion in the Chinese calendar, celebrated to honour the harvest. In China, people celebrate the festival by preparing moon cakes and we have replicated these popular cakes at Golden Dragon, along with a delicious traditional August Moon menu.” Guests will be delighted with the wide spread of dishes such as Dim sum, Bean curd & Asparagus Soup, Lemongrass Scented Seafood Soup, Eggplant Chili Bean Sauce, Chinese Cabbage Roll with butter garlic sauce, Stir Fried Shredded Lamb Gaunxi and Panfried Tenderloin Steak. That’s not all, though. You can complete your meal with a traditional moon cake or an innovative five spice Rhubarb or Raspberry Cheesecake.

Steak Nights at Two One Two Bar and Grill

Reuse and recycle
Here is a workshop that you can enroll your children in to teach them how to recycle. This workshop at Contemporary Arts and Crafts (CAC) will teach children to create something new and unique from recycled waste material. The workshop will have two sessions and can accommodate 15 participants per session, on a first come first serve basis. Store manager of CAC, Rishad Patell says, “Explore your creativity in this interactive, free flowing session for kids aged six to 12 years. Adults are welcome to participate as well. Led by Avan Mehta, this workshop is our initiative of bringing children together and teaching them the importance of recycling waste material in a creative fashion.”

Viral fever at 36 Oak & Barley

Celebrate a cause at Soul Fry
The month of October is devoted to Annual Daniel Pearl Music Days, the aim of which is to demonstrate music’s power in bridging cultural differences. The theme of this celebration is Harmony for Humanity and like last year, Soul Fry Casa will be hosting an event this Sunday. Some of Mumbai's well known musicians that include acappella groups, duos, trios, soloists, and a 5-year-old child protégé will perform. A special menu has also been prepared for this day. Colin D’cruz, director of Appllelogic Studio, tells us, “Since Daniel Pearl was a part of the live music scene in Mumbai and performed here, it’s only fitting for us to actively support and participate in this event.”

Support Breast Cancer Awareness at HRC
With October being breast cancer awareness month, Hard Rock Café (HRC) is launching pink merchandise. HRC will donate part of the proceeds from the sales to Ogaan Cancer Research Foundation. Co-founder and executive director of HRC, Jay Singh, tells us, “Philanthropy has been a cornerstone for HRC and our PINKTOBER program is an example of the same.
