EVENT
Abstract Horizon at Tao Art Gallery

A mesmerising experience featuring artists such as Anwar, Brinda Miller and Sohan Qadri, the Abstract Horizon show is definitely worth checking out. The show includes a variety of artwork in a heady haze of colours and is a great experience for everyone. Kalpana Shah, owner of Tao Art Gallery says, “The Abstract Horizons show represents the incarnation of nature. It is somewhere in between formless and definition — one sees snatches of images or constructs that are familiar but mired in a haze of colours that ensure that complete and immediate elucidation is impossible.” With a range of abstract paintings on display, we really recommend you visit this exhibition.

Variant Horizons at Jehangir Art Gallery
Art being an imitation of life is a popular concept, but art also enriches life in a way nothing else can, so spend your time looking at some of the paintings by Shyam Landge at his solo show, Variant Horizons. Throwing light on his style Shyam tells us, “My search for form and content continued much after my studies. Abstract forms and colour schemes challenged me to bring out something bold and dashing.” He is enchanted by nature and life and that is reflected in his paintings. He adds, “Everything that sprouts around me grips my awareness and grows into a dream world with a rhythm that seeps into me.” Do something different this weekend and see nature reflected in someone’s imagination and art works.

McDowell’s No.1 Karaoke World Championship
Want to let go of all your inhibitions? What better way than to sing your heart out at a karaoke competition! McDowell’s No.1 Karaoke World Championship (KWC) is back with its second season. Legendary karaoke jockey, Savio D’Sa says, “The unique aspect of KWC is that unlike a reality show, there are no live cameras to add to the nervousness of contestants. Only at a Karaoke Night will you see three strangers pop up on the mic to sing their favorite song. This symbolises fun, friendship, confidence and sheer delight. The most remarkable feature of karaoke is that the croak stars and the wildest singers get the loudest applause. KWC hopes to get even more wicked, wackier and wilder this year, expecting such raw talent.”
