Exhibition by Kavita Joshi
After years of study and research, artist Kavita Joshi is revealing how Lord Ganesha is also worshipped as the God of art. Her first series, inspired by the mysterious lord was titled SinVin and she’s following that up with her latest Lord Ganesha series. Done in acrylic, it showcases a bold style with a rustic feel and rough surface, so it has a more antique look. Kavita Joshi says, “Lord Ganesha is also the God of art and his form inspires me to paint him in various ways. Every feature of His form is highly significant. His small but bright eyes show his foresight, His big forehead indicates refined intellect, His hand raised in blessing and his benign gaze signify that he is listening to our prayers, His huge belly tells us that he is swallowing (forgiving) our mistakes. So, every feature of Lord Ganesha holds a tremendous appeal for me and for artists in general.” Head down this weekend to catch a glimpse of her work.
