A trunk show by People For Animals
The trunk show held at The Prince of Wales Museum and Gallery Art & Soul is a unique exhibition put up by People for Animals (PFA), set up by social activist Maneka Gandhi. This exhibition highlights the art of lithography at its best and they will have over 2,000 antique lithographs of birds and flowers that are 200-years-old on sale. The lithographs that are on display include works of the pioneer of lithography, John B. Gould’s A, B, C Series, Birds Series, Roses by Joseph Redoute, Vishnu Prasad’s series and Hand Finished Lithographs by Samuel Benjamin Warner. The proceeds will go to the 34 hospitals and shelters that PFA supports. A major chunk will also go towards the well-being of horses. “Horse carriages are seen pulling tourists; they are kept out in the rain or sun. Their stables are so filthy that the municipality has recommended removing them. This unique exhibition's main goal is to raise funds for these malnourished and diseased horses. In the past, PFA has removed camels from beaches and sent them back to Rajasthan, now it is time for the horses to go too,” says Maneka Gandhi.
