Help the underprivileged at Playland
Happy Planet Playland, a unique zone that offers entertainment for children, has announced the launch of their ‘Spread a Smile’ campaign for underprivileged children to help them with their basic necessities. The campaign, which will allow you to donate stationery, will give underprivileged children free dental checkups and is a venture to donate and serve children from low income communities. Along with Akanksha and Ezone, the campaign is here to provide a strong educational foundation, self esteem and values and also to help children plan how to earn a steady livelihood. Director Nimish Kenia says, “Spread a Smile encourages education amongst underprivileged children. Education forms the basis for any child’s well being. We, at Happy Planet want to support and strengthen the foundation for every underprivileged child. This venture will help contribute in a minor way to alter the lives of these children.” Contact Happy Planet to lend a hand.

Bharatnatyam at the NCPA
For an artistic experience like no other, head down to the National Centre of Performing Arts this weekend and catch The Soul Cages. The show is structured on the imagery and narrative of a story that’s told through the fluid grace of the classical Indian dance form of Bharathanatyam. Savitha Sastry, who will be performing at the show, tells us, “The Soul Cages is an artistic experience that captures the cycles of life and death as a journey, rather than an end in itself.” Savitha is one of the leading exponents of Bharatnatyam and the show promises to be quite an eventful one, so don’t miss out.

Grey Goose bullish, Kingfisher bearish on the BSE
While iPad menus are not uncommon in most bars and restaurants these days, Bistro Grill takes it up a notch and makes use of the tablet for something way more fun. The global cuisine resto-bar has developed a software application called the BSE, which revolutionises the way you order and consume your drinks. Vikram Bawa, owner of Bistro Grill explains, “The concept is simple — based on the demand for a drink, the prices will rise or fall. The fluctuating prices add a level of thrill and excitement to your meal and what’s brilliant is that the prices don’t ever cross the MRP, ensuring a guaranteed discount on every drink. To make things more interesting, all activity that takes place on the Bistro Stock Exchange is displayed on screens that are placed in the lounge, which makes it easy for customers to predict whether the drinks of their choice are expected to become bullish or bearish in a matter of seconds!”
