All of Hoppilpola’s outlets are pretty much buzzing throughout the week. And, to switch things up, they’ve introduced a new menu that adds a host of Mediterranean and Mexican flavours to the mix. “At Hoppipola, we are constantly innovating. With our Little Fat Menu, we have tried to make sure that our dishes are not only interesting, but also appealing to the eye. We have different and unique kinds of serving bowls and plates, and our menu has an array of new and innovative dishes.”

Sizzler Festival at Saptami, Holiday Inn
Multi-cuisine restaurant, Saptami is organising a 10-day sizzler festival, where you can indulge in hot and spicy delicacies to beat the winter chill. The chef will be whipping up a range of meaty and vegetable sizzlers including Paneer Manga, Mexican Veggie, Cottage-cheese Hoisin, Herb Crusted, Prawn Cleopatra and Salmon Tandoori with tomato relish. In addition to this, there will be a host of other accompaniments, main course dishes and desserts to suit your palate. “We are offering a great selection of sizzlers. The idea is to present customers with a variety of succulent meats and vegetables. There will also be a few unique desserts sizzlers,” says executive chef, Sudhir Pai, Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport.

Jeon’s Super Salad Menu

Bela Seshe

For decades, Bengali cinema has impressed audiences with its intricate storytelling techniques, and we are rarely ever disappointed with what they have to show us. If you’ve always wanted to give Bengali cinema a chance, but found the language barrier too much to overcome, you can now watch the famous Bengali drama film, Bela Seshe, with English subtitles. The plot follows the protagonist as he grapples with the idea of divorcing his wife of 49 years. The movie is an emotional journey into the rediscovery of the institution of marriage. Inspired by the blockbuster Bajirao Mastani, fashion designer Anju Modi has launched a clothing line that reflects the iconic historical personalities in the film. The designs are inspired by the great Maratha warriors and Persian culture, and yet reaches out to a modern audience. The Textile Initiative
Surprise Home Linen has partnered with NGO Srujna in a cause towards woman empowerment. They have a collection of handmade items such as table mats and cushion covers, whose proceeds will go towards helping victims of trafficking. The NGO works to help these women get reintegrated into society by providing them a way to support themselves. Nirav Meswani, director at Surprise Home Linen tells us, “With this textile initiative, Surprise Home Linen aims at empowering these women and girls by making available fabrics that can be renewed into home linen products, whilst sustaining the art of handcrafting. In association with Srujna, we are helping them create an ecosystem of occupation and revenue that will help their growth.”

Pune International Film Festival

Film buffs can now rejoice! The Government of India and the Pune Film Foundation have announced the 14th Pune International Film Festival. This edition has received 986 entries from 104 different countries, and, as usual, serves as a platform for budding filmmakers. The theme ‘Sports and Cinema bringing the world together’ was inspired by the fact that they both provide a common platform for people across cultural and geographical boundaries to connect. This year, you can enjoy 200 film screenings across various locations in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Shri Paraag Jaiin Nainuttia (IAS), managing director of MTDC, says, “The Pune International Film Festival is one of the most awaited events on the annual Maharashtra tourism calendar as we witness significant traffic from within and outside India. This year, we are positive that the festival will be bigger and better than previous seasons and we look forward to an overwhelming response from audiences.”
