Herpeofauna camp at Matheran
Go on a weekend getaway to Matheran with the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), as they are organising a camp to explore the different reptiles and amphibians of the region, including the Termite Hill Gecko, the Skittering Frog and the Fungoid Frog. Isaac Kehimkar, deputy director of natural history at BNHS, tells us, “Matheran is a place for people who love to walk. This is possibly the last of the lovely hill forests near Mumbai that stills rings with bird songs and is the perfect place to enjoy nature.” The camp is priced at Rs 4,500 for members and Rs 5,100 for non-members.
