Rhythms of Brush and Pigment
Eminent artists including Gopal Prasad Sharma, Pradip Mukherjee, Shakir Ali, Rajesh Kumar Kumawat and others are participating in an exhibition titled ‘Ryhthms of Brush and Pigment, Indian Miniature Paintings.’ Organised by Swasti Vinayaka Art and Heritage, the first part of the show will present a history of Indian miniature styles while the second will focus on works of established as well as young artists dedicated towards carrying on the art legacy. Dinesh Poddar, Managing Director of Swasti Vinayaka Art and Heritage, says, “The aim is to bring all artists under one roof to give them a platform to showcase their work and also preserve the miniature and traditional visual art forms of Rajasthan. The main highlights on display will be the 'Gangaur Processionit took the artist three years to complete and is the main attraction of the third phase of the show called the Signio Paintings.”

Shakti Art Exhibition
Artist Shilpa Pandit Patole showcases 50 paintings of oil on canvas. Shilpa is from JJ School of Arts and this is her sixth solo show. She has been a part of several group shows as well. She says, “The main source of inspiration for me are day-to-day activities, which evoke strong feelings in me. The rapport between the artist and his work should be so immediate that, it should give a supple quality to the work done. I feel that art reflects life. Art is not what is perceived on the surface, but it is beyond this. Less thinking and more spontaneity is the basis of my work.”

The Big Band All Stars
Head down to Blue Frog this weekend to watch some fantastic musicians belt it out. On vocals there are the famous Suzanne D’Mello, Megan Murray and Shazneen performing. And on instruments you’ll be treated to performances by saxophone players Shirish Malhotra and Rhys Sebastian, Bosco Monsorate on trumpet and many more. Shirish says, “The event is going to be so much fun. We’ll be playing lots of songs that everyone is going to love. It’s going to be a good show so don’t miss it.”
