sofitel’s feta de la musique
June 21, or summer solstice, marks the advent of longer days in the northern hemisphere. To celebrate the beginning of a new season, Sofitel is organising a day of complete symphony, coupling gastronomy with music. Mr. Biswajit Chakraborthy, general manager at Sofitel Mumbai BKC, says, “Launched in France in the summer of 1982, the festival was created to mark the rise of Mercury. Being a French brand of international hotels, Sofitel takes pride in amalgamating this cultural event. Encouraging both amateur and professional musicians to showcase their talents, the day has crossed the milestone and has become a moment of expression.” From Rajasthani folk songs to Hollywood retro music, there’s a lot you can look forward to at the all-day event.

Neopolitan flat breads at Nico Bombay
Nico Bombay is bringing you a range of authentic Neapolitan flat breads, made from farm fresh cheese, herbs, vegetables and meat. You can look forward to delicacies such as the Margarita Flat Bread, made with vine ripened tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil, as well as the Beirut Flat Bread, made with goat meat, pine nuts and dill cream. Owner of Nico Bombay, Nico Goghavala, says, “Pizza Napoletana is as artisanal as it gets, since it uses traditional pizza making techniques. Diners usually order a thin crust pizza, thinking that it will naturally be lighter on the stomach. They couldn't be further from the truth! Whether the bread is digestible or not depends on its yeast content... less yeast, makes it easier on the stomach. We use the least possible amount of yeast using flour with a high protein content; throw in some of the finest San Marzano tomatoes and artisanal buffalo mozzarella cheese that you can find and present to you a bite of heaven — a little sprinkle of our signature chilli oil won't hurt, we are Indian after all!”
