Happy birthday BlueFrog. And to celebrate three years, they are organising a month long party. This weekend you can watch US band Tortured Soul take stage.
Their music is “live soulful house.” Confused? Just think of Jamiroquai, Stevie Wonder and St. Germain. Tortured Soul will be performing on December 10 and 11 and will be followed by Global Underground (Dale Anderson & Anil Chawla) + DJ Aneesh on December 10 and DJ Tsuyoshi Suzuki on December 11.
Tortured Soul will bring all the right elements of soul and disco heritage into their music. “We’re all trained musicians,” explains drummer and band originator John-Christian Urich,“but paramount to what we do is to make people dance.”
Tortured Soul have played in Singapore and Malaysia, The Big Chill and Homelands in the UK, The Montreal Jazz Festival, 20,000 at Detroit’s Movement Festival and have turned all the right heads at the Shelter party in Miami. The band have successfully crossed into a variety of music arenas, supporting artists as diverse as Paul Oakenfold, Roni Size, The Legendary Wailers and Maroon 5. “For me, Tortured Soul is what a band should be,” concludes Urich.
