The future of luxury watch retail stores is here – or so Art of Time wants us to believe. Katha Nauriyal visited the showroom and tells you what to expect
Amidst a new wave of luxury brands seeping into the Indian market, making already stiff competition even more rigorous to crack, Art of Time skillfully brings together some of the most celebrated luxury watch brands in the country, and offers anyone who walks in a great experience.
Nestled right at Waterfield Road, the store, stands out and even if you’re not looking for it, it’s pretty hard to miss. The spacious interiors boast of large glass facades, high ceilings and elegant light embellishments. As expected, it welcomes you in to an opulent space dripping with luxury, but not the sort that’s stiff and uncomfortable. This allows you to comfortably scout through the collections, zipping through the soft, tasteful space to check out everything they have under a large umbrella of luxury watch brands. While choosing a watch is an easy, relaxed experience, it goes without saying that the store caters to a very niche crowd with expandable pockets. Simply noting the five main brands they offer makes that even more apparent. It’s the only retail store in the city to house Cartier watches, and the Jaeger-LeCoultre range too features an interesting array of dual pieces. However, what really caught my fancy were the Rendez-Vous watch pieces. They’re diamond studded and display the stars at night and the sun during the day. In one corner lies Officine Panerai, which also displays a relatively limited, but attractive collection of watches. While IWC Schaffhausen features mainly large dial watches, Mont Blanc puts together an extensive collection combined with a range of cuff and belt accessories, luxury pens, wallets and bags — in addition to the watches, of course.
Art Of Time displays an array of options for both men and women and you can pick from a myriad of classic and contemporary options. The collections are highly priced, but it’s a luxury boutique so that shouldn’t surprise or deter you from walking in. Don’t waste any time checking it out — it’s worth a walk-in at the very least!
