Yamini Walia tells you what to expect at The Lil Flea’s first anniversary celebration
The Lil Flea is celebrating its first anniversary with over 200 pop-up shops, curated food and a line-up of indie music bands. Alankar Jain & Priyanka Punjabi, co-founders of The Lil Flea, tell us, “I think this amazing growth has happened because the city was waiting for a platform such as this one. The last few years have seen a surge of people following their creativity rather than the diktats of a 9 to 5 job. These people need avenues to express themselves and to explore new markets. The Lil Flea provides them with just that.”
Enjoy the live performances of The Raghu Dixit Project, Winit Tikoo, Prateek Kuhad, MadBoy Mink, Clayton Hogermeer, Boombay Djembe Folas and Kabir Cafe. You can also participate in the 40 Djembe drum circles, try your hand at the pottery wheels, learn how to make dreamcatchers, swap old books in the community books exchange, jam with singers and songwriters, attend poetry readings and experience the Chef’s Table.
Look out for brands such as Radio Rani, Moha, Fizza Designs, Gentleman’s Community, Boriya Basta, Organised Chaos, Kanvas Closet, Wechitrart, Vraj Bhoomi, Priyanjoli, Studio Kassa, Funk for Hire and The Travellers Trove, along with food from brands such as Mystry Box, Raw Pressery, Sustenance, Mexican Express, Pack a Pav, Street Kings, Waffle House and Exalte Teas.
Their anniversary edition is also introducing a campaign called One Lil Tree, which aims to engage people in a green initiative — as part of this, every visitor will be given free seeds!
