Theatricean presents The Comedy Kitchen, a collection of 8 short plays. The concept is much like that of a real-life kitchen, where dishes are created out of a hotchpotch of ingredients (mostly leftovers!). Some of these plays are original and some adapted from hugely popular British sitcoms. The plays range from one about an extremely irate hotel guest who’s had his right shoe stolen to another about a person with memory loss consulting a doctor who suffers from memory loss himself.
The makers of The Comedy Kitchen are inspired by Monty Python, Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Peter Cook, Morecambe & Wise and The Two Ronnies. Judging by these names, if you love British television (a term the English apparently hate), you will truly enjoy The Comedy Kitchen. “We’re here to fulfill one simple objective. Life is tough, work sucks, humidity is a curse — we want to shut all that out for a couple of hours and just rejuvent ourselves with laughter. If you noticed the misspelling of rejuvenate, we’re delighted that you’re reading all this. Seriously!” says Dhruv Mookherji, writer of The Comedy Kitchen.
