Newly launched website, Ideas Designs Production aims to provide a range of event services at the click of a button. Dev Goswami checks it out to see if it’s as convenient as promised
The home page for Ideas Designs Production, launched by hospitality agency, Party Cruisers Pvt. Ltd. is, unfortunately, a little bland. Considering that this is the website for a hospitality and event organising company, I was looking to be wowed a little more from the get-go. Making things look attractive is supposed to be their forte, so the dull website was a little off-putting. But, after trawling through their sections, I discovered that the website has several features that do manage to make it stand out from the landslide of new event companies cropping up across the city.
The home page is an animated brochure, with a sideshow of wedding stages, corporate stalls, theme parties and receptions that they’ve organised and/ or designed. It also has links that take you to different sections such as corporate events, wedding events, corporate stalls and theme parties.
Click on these links and instead of just showcasing pictures of their past work, the website displays several stock designs — from wedding reception stages to themed parties with arched balloon gates. You can choose an item at the click of a button. So, if you like a particular design and don’t want to add a personal touch (sadly, there’s no mention about how to customise something online, so you’d have to call them), you can just add an item to your cart and proceed to check out.
They also have a solitary game table for theme parties and a few of their links (such as the Baby Shower), don’t have any products ready to view at the moment — I’m guessing that they plan to add some in the future.
The weddings section also displays various themes that they offer, at a starting price of `10,000, but these are options that require you to get in touch with them, as no further information is provided as far as complete wedding planning is concerned.
Overall, the website offers a unique solution to event planning. Shopping online for ready stages or complete themes is certainly a new concept. But, Ideas Designs Production needs to improve in a lot of areas. Their website design could be much better and information on shipping is missing, along with information on customisation. You can, of course contact them on one of the several numbers mentioned, but that defeats the purpose of an online service, doesn’t it?
