No, we’re not talking about a fruit or a new beverage. We’re talking about the newly opened JUICE outlet in Lokhandwala. Katha Nauriyal visits to see what’s new
JUICE, with its inviting ambiance, is easy to spot, and I was greeted by the cheery owner as soon as I stepped in. On a little tour of the new space, I made my way through the large area, which is divided into two sections — for hair and for nails. It has two rooms for grooming and other relaxation therapies. However, even though it was a Friday, I happened to be their only client that evening, leading me to believe that people haven’t noticed the place yet. Like most salons, JUICE boasts of white interiors with big mirrors and bright lights that are kept immaculately clean. It has on display an array of hair and grooming products such as Bed Head and L'Oréal.
As a first-timer at any JUICE salon and having received mixed reviews from older customers, I decided it was best not to experiment too much. And, since the brand is known for its haircare treatments, I picked a hair wash and a haircut. Unlike most hair salons, my wash not only lasted longer, but the expert also offered a good head massage, which is characteristic of most high-end salons these days. We then moved to my haircut. Since I didn’t have anything particular in mind, and wanted to gauge what JUICE had to offer, I went with the stylist’s recommendation. I had no inclination to experiment too much, so I was recommended what they call the “transgent fall generation haircut,” best suited to my oval face.
Interestingly, the salon uses disposable capes in order to maintain hygiene levels, which is a pretty smart idea. While, the hair stylist carefully cut my hair, I did notice the little tricks and techniques that he had been trained for, which made me feel a little more secure about leaving my style up to him.
Also, it was pleasant to see the staff clean the floors at regular intervals, ensuring cleanliness. Finally, after a pretty long session, I had a new hairstyle with fresh layers, blown-out curls and the length that I desired. As great as the blow-dry was, it unfortunately didn’t last too long, leaving me looking like I had a mere trim.
But, while I certainly would not dismiss JUICE, I do suggest you to focus on the style that you want before you walk in, and instruct your stylist accordingly. Additionally, ensure that your blow dry has been done thoroughly. However, what works for the salon is its sincere staff, pretty interiors and impeccable hygiene. This outlet is a good place to get used to!
