Shreyas Talpade is working hard to give his best when he competes with other stars such as Raveena Tandon,Shekhar Suman and Arshad Warsi on CKMM. Sheryas, who will be leading the team Sheryas Chi Mandli, tells us about his new show and what comedy means to him...
What is comedy to you?
My life is the biggest comedy for me right now, as I am running directly from Chandigarh to the sets of the show. Moreover I haven’t rehearsed enough and I have to meet my wife and dogs! But on a serious note, comedy is reacting to a situation in a humorous way and that’s the reason why we have so many different types of comedy.
What were your reasons for doing Comedy Ka Maha Muqabla?
Money, they are giving me good money. I like the format and it reminds me of my theatre days. Getting together, rehearsing scripts, discussing, creative satisfaction and execution.
What do you think of comedy on TV today?
The new comedy shows have really brought some innovative type of comic scripts which is very different from film scripts. I am glad comedy on television is entertaining the family audiences.
Is laughter really the best medicine?
Yes definitely. If you are bored or stressed in your hectic life, laughter gives you much relief and acts as a medicine.
What is your take on your fellow judges?
All my fellow judges are very talented. I have worked with Arshad so I know him very well and really admire his comic timing. Raveena Tandon and Shekhar Suman are my seniors and I have a lot to learn from them because I am youngest judge on the show.
