Brides, get ready to get tempted with a variety of options for your special day. Anita Dongre’s new Bridal Store at High Street Phoenix is a dream come true for you, says Gargi Bansod
A designer lehenga for the pheras and reception, that’s what every Indian bride dreams of. She wants to look and feel like a princess and have a unique outfit. And, Anita Dongre’s Bridal Store looks promising enough to turn these dreams into reality.
Launched about a week ago, this three level store is beautifully done up and divided into sections for salwar suits and saris, men’s wear and the bridal collection. The theme of the collection is ‘Timeless’, inspired by the Jaipur traditions and it reflects well with the palace-like interiors of the store. Her collection is vibrant and colourful, true to Rajasthani culture. You will see a lot of yellow, purple, orange, peacock blue and of course, the traditional Indian bride colour, red. The shades are subtle, so they do not look gaudy or over the top.
The special part about this store is that the renowned fashion designer personally sits with the bride to discuss her trousseau. There is a separate room where Anita Dongre has sessions with the bride to get her dream dress right. The room itself has been designed to make the bride feel like her fairytale has begun. With a prior appointment and a talk with the designer, you can have your perfect dress made in a month and a half. So, fix your dates right now!
On the lower level, they have salwar suits (`10,000 onwards) in a good mix of western and traditional designs. The men’s section has a range of Jaipur kurtas (`10,000), sherwanis and traditional Rajasthani turbans (`6,500). They also have a collection of handloom saris (`10,000 onwards), named Grassroot. The upper level is for lehengas (`50,000 onwards) and saris with heavy work (`25,000). The store is vast, easy to browse through and tempting, even if you aren’t the bride! Anita Dongre plans to have a collection of Jaipur themed jewellery at the store too.
With wedding season on its way, all brides are sure to go bridezilla on this one!
