Dev Goswami visits the newly opened Esthetiques Spa & Salon in Andheri and while impressed with what’s on offer, he finds out that the spa is just like any other
Esthetiques Spa & Salon is like a fancy spa’s neglected step sister. Situated in a worn down building compound, the way to the spa is not very pleasing; it is stained with paan and smells like an industrial compound. We are sure that they were not counting on this, but the not-so-pleasant surroundings ensure that entering the quietness and calmness of the spa and salon lifts your mood, irrespective of its own ambience.
Esthetiques main clinic, a block away from the spa and salon, offers a number of treatments which deal with skin, hair and weight issues. They use a combination of science and homeopathy. Machines are used to deal with skin, hair and weight problems. This basically means that they provide skin, hair and weight solutions such as Botox, laser and tummy tucks. These are then followed up by a course of homeopathic as well as ayurvedic medicines.
The spa and salon arises from their want to help maintain their clients’ bodies even after they complete their treatment at the main clinic. However, it is also open to those who have not been to Esthetiques clinic. Do not go there expecting the range of therapies and massages that you are usually used to. Most of the massages are aromatic based and are priced from `1,500 onwards for a 45 minute session.
The salon on the other hand, offers the usual skin and hair care solutions. The staff is pleasant and it is easy to achieve a level of comfort with them, making it easier to communicate what you want. The other services offered at the salon include a Body Polish (`1,500), manicures and pedicures (`275 onwards), head massages (`500) and other basic skincare options such as waxing and threading; beginning at `40. A complete beauty package including a facial, hand polishing, manicure, head massage and hair wash will cost you `2,600. The rates, we feel, are quite reasonable and the services offered are worth the money.
However, if you keep away the level of personalisation that comes thanks to their main clinic, you will not find anything which is exceptionally new or different at Esthetiques Spa and Salon.
