Explore the afterlife
Well-renowned stand-up comic, Sourabh Pant makes his debut in the sphere of novels, with the launch of his book The Wednesday Soul, where he explores the grim issues of life and death. As a writer he has written columns for many leading newspapers. His debut novel is the account of Nyra Dubey, a feisty, bordering non-violent girl from Delhi and her life after life.
Nyra, who gets run over by a bus, finds her soul in the midst of a destructive plot to destroy the life after life, the plot is engineered by monstrous creature known as Eledactyl and the only way to escape is by rubbing its bottom from the inside. The book also talks about the vengeance she feels against the masters of death for holding her back from enjoying her ‘newly-acquired fridge-sized boyfriend’ (not our words). The book is sure to leave you in splits.
Speaking about the book, Vir Das, a fellow comic and actor says, “It takes a rare finesse to transition from humorist to story teller without compromise, Sourabh excels in satisfying both cravings. The Wednesday Soul is a funny, imaginative, gutsy and downright crazy read. The only reason you will put it down, is to roll off your chair in laughter.”
