Children looking for a fun filled evening should head down to The Comedy Store this weekend, says Rhea Dhanbhoora
Children need a break too every once in a while, and the best way to ensure your child has a fun evening out is to head down to The Comedy Store with them this weekend. The musical comedy, Punch-a-Tantra, will be waiting to take them on a voyage filled with laugher.
The musical comedy is for everyone and anyone from the age group of four and above and is interwoven around stories from Indian folklore. The comedy is inspired by fascinating fables from Indian folklore, with inspiration drawn from tales such as Hitopadesha, Aesop Fables and Jataka Tales. The play promises to be a theatrical adventure for children.
Producer Ashvin Gidwani tells us, “Punch-a-Tantra is an amalgamation of old fables that are inspired from early teachings along with modern day ideology.
Portraying moral through fable, it transcends the visual delights for children across ages, inspired by music, dance and folklore. This is a must see for every child.
There is a tremendous lack of children’s entertainment in India and we hope to fill that void. It is also a method of educating our younger audience towards theatre.”
Written by Ayeesha Menon, the high energy show promises to be an exciting experience for children. The music has been composed by Merlin D’Souza and the show includes dynamic dances, unforgettable songs and rib-tickling comedy performed by India’s finest young talent.
