Looking for an ensemble that’s high on style? Pick your outfit from Shantanu Goenka’s latest collection. From stylish kurtas to a signature line of saris, Shantanu Goenka’s work is something to watch out for. There is a preview of his latest Festive/Bridal collection this month and it includes clothes that have embroidery ranging from jewelled borders, fine thread work in Parsi and European baroque styles and a range of indo-western styles. There will also be a display of jewels from Jaipur.
The collection is a mix of ensembles for women of all age groups and includes stylish tunics with interesting details, asymmetrical bodices with embroidered leggings, chiffon dresses with baroque boleros and more. The designer, an alumni of NIFT, has won an award for the most creative designer and also interned with fashion guru JJ Vallaya. Today, the Kolkata based designer has not only launched his own label but also managed to create a beautiful collection of clothes.
Shantanu tells us, “I always wanted to do creative clothing. Couture is only a source of sustenance. The hallmark of my design philosophy is not being afraid to experiment.” The event showcasing his clothing line will be hosted by Miraangi and is open to all.
