Big Bang Bar & Café is organising a fun event called Arty Party this weekend. Dev Goswami tells you more about it

This weekend, The Big Bang Bar & Café is organising a one-of-a-kind event that we think is pretty cool and one that you shouldn’t miss out on. In association with the artist collective Visual Disobedience and donation initiative Books On Toast, the event is called Arty Party and will be on tomorrow and day after. There’s a lot to look forward to at the event — from books and art to music and comedy. They also have a number of exhibitions, discussions and performances lined up.

Visual Disobedience will be displaying and selling paintings, prints, miniature sculptures, hand-painted lamps and other merchandise. Books On Toast, the multi-city book donation initiative, will also be holding their annual sale. Proceeds will go to 3.2.1, an education foundation that aims to create a high quality school network.

It’s not just sales and exhibitions that you can look forward to. Arty Party will also see renowned stand-up comic and writer Ashish Shakya, doing a unique ‘drunken’ pub quiz. They also have Rohan and Ankit from the pop-rock band Spud in the Box performing over the weekend, as well as demos and discussions by photographer Fabien Charuau and digital artist Mira Malhotra.

Co-owner of the bar & café, Mihir Desai says, “This event is a part of our continued endeavour to introduce Mumbai to newer, quirkier and fun-filled cultural events that will change the way we experience a weekend. Arty Party will redefine the traditional art market by giving a platform to new artists to sell affordable art and make it fun to not only own but also to buy. We hope we can make your weekend cooler and ensure art makes it to everyone's home this February.” We absolutely love this event and the best part is that the entry is free! Go online and search for Arty Party to locate their events page and find out the schedule.
