Mumbai Foodie, a Mumbai-based food community is all set to collaborate with The Global Foodie in order to create an interesting experience for its food community this weekend. They’re coming together to create a pop-up restaurant called Taste of London at The Pint Room. As the name suggests, you can treat yourself to an array of scrumptious British-style pub food such as Beer Battered Fish and Chips, Chicken and Curry Pies, Cheese Toasties and Fish Popcorn, along with desserts such as Stout Chocolate Cake, all accompanied by the perfect beer.
Ronak Rajani, the founder of Mumbai Foodie, tells us, “I think people really love the fact that there is something different happening in the food scene. Our pop-up restaurant offers a variety of food, no entry fee and a British pub like atmosphere, which helps turns a drab monsoon weekend into a culinary experience. Mumbai Foodie uses the idea of a pop-up restaurant as a way to offer gourmet dining at reduced prices, so that everyone can enjoy it.”
The menu is curated by chef Urvika Kanoi, who has a diploma in French cuisine, from Le Cordon Bleu. She has previously worked at London’s Peyton & Byrne, the Hyatt Regency and The Park Hotel in Kolkata. Urvika says, “The typical gastronomical experience has had a global revolution, with the growth of pop-ups and small restaurants sampling cuisines and fusing them with each other. New, young chefs are bringing unique concepts to the food scene and people have become more experimental. Pop-ups allow chefs to create a dynamic concept and be more adventurous. I have been lucky to have been trained in French cuisine, have experience with British food and am from Indian background. I can fuse all these tastes together to create a unique concept.” So, if you are looking for a different culinary experience, visit this unique pop-up restaurant.
