The longest running play
Ank Theatre’s group’s play Hai Mera Dil will be completeing a record of 1,073 stage shows tonight and with that, it will become the longest running play in the history of Hindi theatre. Directed by Dinesh Thakur, Hai Mera Dil is a story of a husband who through some misunderstanding is convinced that he is going to die soon of a serious heart ailment. The story takes a hilarious turn of events when, under the assumption that he will die soon, he decides to plan a second marriage of his beloved wife. However, his noble intentions boomerang when his wife becomes suspicious and takes his behaviour for infidelity.
A very successful comic play, Hai Mera Dil has travelled to a number of metros and even small towns and colonies. Dinesh, who also plays the role of the husband, uses simple and everyday things that we tend to overlook to make you laugh, ensuring that no matter your lifestyle, you will connect with the story. We recommend that you head down tonight to Prithvi Theatre to catch this play — you are guaranteed to burst out into peals of laughter.
