Jewellery and silverware all in one store is bound to get any woman starry eyed. Yashasvi Vachhani finds out whether the store ONE in Worli has the same appeal
W edding season is here and everyone wants to buy exclusive jewellery and gift silverware. There are also Bridezillas demanding originality. It could get a little tricky trying to get all the gifts, jewellery, clothes, décor and caterers in order. But, new designer silverware and jewellery boutique ONE, aims to ease part of your stress and will help you match the colours of your wedding to the gift boxes, platters and packaging to give your wedding an exclusive stamp.
The boutique is owned by the Rateria’s and is managed by Sneha Rateria, a young and enthusiastic entrepreneur. The designs are created by her mother Saroj Rateria, and everything is custom- made. You can even change the designs as per your requirements.
The jewellery collection has a number of statement pieces which would work well for a wedding or family function. The pieces are mainly inspired by Indian traditions, but in a bid to push the envelope, there is also a slight Victorian touch to the bracelets and earrings. One particular piece that caught my eye was the three line polka, which looked like it was fit for royals. The collection starts at `10,000.
ONE also focuses on silverware to be used or gifted at weddings, but which can also be purchased as showpieces. They stock everything from silver thalis to glasses with intricate work. For people with a more contemporary style, they have photo frames, elegant boxes and edgy show pieces such as a large silver pot with an embossed self-design.
The motifs on the boxes come in various designs such as peacocks and butterflies, a customer has even used these as knobs in the past, Sneha informed us.
ONE also has trays with beautiful enamel work which brighten up any dinner table. The silverware starts at `4,000, depending on the price of silver at the time. You have the choice to match your wedding cards to the enamel or the motif on the silver gift boxes which look great sitting on a table apart from being wonderful takeaways.
They also plan to launch a line of bridal wear at the store. So, it looks like you will not have to go too far for the next wedding in your family; you can just head to ONE to get all your work done.
