On The Hunt Again!

Friday, March 13, 2015

After completing a successful year in Bandra, Clue Hunt recently opened its second branch in Lower Parel. Yamini Walia visited the place to find out what’s new

Having visited Clue Hunt’s Bandra outlet, I was quite elated  when I learnt about their new branch in Lower Parel. So, when I had the opportunity to try their new games, I couldn’t curb  my excitement. The interiors of their new branch have a very  Sherlock-inspired vibe. And so, as soon as you enter, you’re bound to feel like a   detective! The one aspect that I really liked about the Lower  Parel outlet is that the location is bigger, as it offers three new games.  The Clue Hunt in Bandra, on the other hand, has just two.

The concept behind the new games that they’ve introduced (The Lock-up Mystery, The Stolen Painting and The Diamond Maze) remains the same — the games involves two to six people, who are locked in a room and are required to find clues in order to exit the room within 60 minutes. They have made a few changes to their rules, which will definitely keep you on the edge. This time around, I went in a group of six people, which, even though allows more brains at work, isn’t always a good thing — more people also mean more ideas and even more contradictions!

We chose to try the The Stolen Painting game. The last time I’d been to Clue Hunt, I was allowed to ask for an unlimited number of hints. This time however, after asking for three hints, we were told that from thereon we would be subjected to a time reduction of five minutes for every new hint. Thankfully, we managed just fine with three hints — no, I am not lying!

The game was quite tough and required a lot of serious thought and high levels of concentration. We managed to solve the clues and exit the room dot on time. The game delivered what it promised — a lot of excitement clubbed with an equal amount of fun. I can’t wait to try the other rooms, as we were told that those games are even tougher with a success rate of just 6-8%... yes, you read that right!  As far as the price is concerned, it depends on the number of people playing the game — the higher the number of people, lesser the price will be per person. It can range between Rs 1,000 (for two people) and Rs 2,000 (for six people). Once again I was quite kicked about my experience at Clue Hunt and I would recommend that you try this unique experience that is unmatched by anything else in the city!
