EXHIBITION: WOMEN AND WE MEN AT NEHRU CENTRE
Rhea Dhanbhoora tells you why you should head to Women and We Men exhibition
Artistic trio, Gautam Patole, Subrata Sen and Rupali Madan, are presenting a new art show called Women and We Men, which aims to spread world peace and harmony. Using mediums such as brushes, fingers, stone and wood, the exhibition is an impression of vivid imagination and creativity, portrayed in various shapes and forms. The artists paint different emotions of women in forms such as motherhood, love, support, care, beauty, happiness and even remorse.
The exhibition will feature 40 paintings and 10 sculptures. Gautam Patole will be depicting women in charcoal, while renowned Kolkata artist Subrata Sen will be painting women in the backdrop of Rajasthan. Well-known sculptor and artist Rupali Madan will be working with wood and stone carvings. She tells us, “Working with stone and wood is a difficult job. Stone is a very risky medium to work with; your every move needs to be very delicate and cautious and it happens so that when you are about to give your artwork its final chisels, one wrong hit suddenly ruins it all.”
The exhibition is definitely worth a visit. As Gautam says, “Since the world is hardly a peaceful place anymore, it is a small initiative on our part, in association with NGO World Peace Harmony, to do our bit towards creating harmony. We want to spread the message of world peace through our medium for the cause to help make the world a better place.”
