EXHIBITION Adoptathon 2013
Do you love pets and have you always wanted to adopt one? Rhea Dhanbhoora tells you exactly where you should be this weekend
Have you always wanted a little, furry friend? Visit the Adoptathon 2013, India’s largest Adoption Camp, that’s taking place this weekend. It’s organised by World for All Animal Care and Adoptions and this year they’ll be accommodating 150 Indian breeds of puppies and kittens that they’ve rescued from the street.
CEO and founder of World for All Animal Adoptions, Ruchi Nadkarni says, “Adoptathon 2013 is very special because it will signify the shift in the mindset of an entire city. This event will have more animals up for adoption than any other camp in India has ever seen. We are expecting to create magic again this year and hope that people will come out and adopt.”
Celebrities such as Hema Malini, John Abraham, Neelima Azim, Om Puri, Boman Irani, Cyrus Broacha, Imran Khan, Tusshar Kapoor and Pooja Bhat are expected to be there as part of a celebrity panel. They will also have veterinarians, adoption counselors and several volunteers at the event.
This is not the first year of the event; they had 114 adoptions in 2011 and 92 in 2012. Head over to help them round up a better number this year.
