Forty Red Bangles is an online store which symbolises the new age Indian woman says Shradha Bhatia
Forty Red Bangles is a combination of traditional and modern elements. It is influenced by India — the people, culture, food and architecture. Every product has a story to tell. This story is a pivotal part of the Forty Red Bangles label.
Owner, Ramona Saboo, professes that the label is a mélange of ideas, experiences and influences which converged to form a lifestyle label and is still a “work-in-progress.”
The bangles symbolise Ramona’s journey from Melbourne to Jodhpur to Mumbai, which helped her to identify her roots and establish her own identity.
The label also reaches out to homegrown designers and NGO’s because Ramona believes that in this age driven by consumerism, we tend to sacrifice quality for convenience and our traditional handmade skills and beauty often get lost in the process.
The two collections, “With Love From India” and “Aamchi Mumbai”, boast of eco-friendly products such as t-shirts, tunics, bags, home decor and jewellery, which are a clever combination of sustainability and design. “Aamchi Mumbai” is inspired by her daughter and tells of the relationship an individual has with our busy, bustling city.
There is also a signature line of candles, a children’s bedding line and an accessories line in the works. The collection ranges from approximately `2,000 – `2,500 and targets those who value quality and tradition. Forty Red Bangles is at the forefront of ethical fashion and while they are only an online store right now, expect to see the label in major stores across the country soon. We love their unique quirky collections and we’re pretty sure you will too.
