Wear a piece of art
Well known artist, curator and author, Alka Raghuvanshi has a treat in store for us this month. Under her label Ehsaas, she’s presenting a stunning selection of sarees, stoles, ties and bags. Instead of commissioning paintings especially for the pieces, she chose the best from the existing repertoire of paintings by several renowned artists across the country.
The presentation of art, design, music and dance is a multi-media event that is showcasing wearable art. The limited edition pieces, printed on hand woven fabric, are stunning, so don’t miss out.
The contemporary artists, who have contributed to the wearable art, include Alka Raghuvanshi, Shridhar Iyer, Niren Sengupta, Sanjay Battacharya and Manisha Gawade.
Alka tells us, “All the arts have a shared heritage and in Ehsaas, they converge seamlessly. It is perhaps the first-ever serious attempt to use contemporary art to create works of wearable art for a larger audience.”
