Set primarily in the kitchen of an Asian restaurant where employees prepare meals for customers from an attached apartment complex, The Golden Dragon is Germany’s most lauded and widely performed new play. Receiving rave reviews all over the world for its dark yet humorous drama and intense performances, the play is working its way around the globe.
And now, you have the chance to catch all the action live as it makes its way to the city this month. Written by Roland Schimmelpfenning and translated by David Tushingham, the play is directed by Ramin Gray and stars David Beames, Adam Best, Ann Firbank, Kathryn O’Reilly and Jack Tarlton.
Head of Programming for Theatre & Film at the NCPA, Deepa Gahlot tells us, “After staging 15 premiering plays at the NCPA Centerstage Festival 2011 and launching Aalbel: NCPA’s first production in twenty years; we are pleased to bring yet another exceptional theatrical piece for our audiences.”
