Save the tiger!
Nabibakhsh Mansoori is a painter who loves to throw the viewer off balance and make them take a second look at his work, drawing them into his world. His paintings feature the world as a vortex which has no beginning or end. An element that is of interest in Mansoori's painting is the use of multiple points of focus. This can be traced to the imagery of the puppet shows the artist saw as a child in his native village.
When Mansoori moved to the city to pursue higher education his paintings initially reflected city life, but gradually he found his true calling and turned to the experiences and memories from childhood and this has continued to be his source of inspiration. His painted world is a busy place, whirring with people, their dreams and their thousand desires. But most of all, it is a kingdom of animals and objects which are the main protagonists and pivot of his lucid style. All will be seen in his collection of paintings which are displayed at the Atrium gallery. It is his love for animals which is shown in these paintings – a many number of which deal with the cause of saving the tigers.
