Priyanka Singh tells you more about Navi Mumbai’s photo exhibition, Explore, Enhance and Enrich
Explore, Enhance and Enrich is an all-in-all photography exhibition in Navi Mumbai. It will be set up at Urban Haat in CBD Belapur and will be a one-stop-shop for all your photographical needs. You’ll find almost 200 works of photography by 50 photographers from all over India on display. The event has been conceptualised and organised by the artists of Art Desh - The Studio, an art gallery that promotes emerging contemporary artists and the same team that brought the art event The Navi Mumbai Art Festival 2013 at the start of this year. The highlights of the exhibition include antique camera exhibition, 20ft huge art installation on vintage camera, photography exhibitions, archive exhibitions, screening of short films and documentary films, competitions, workshops, live portfolios and calendar photoshoot.
A spokesperson of the exhibition says, “The passionate team of Art Desh — Gautam Patole, Daxa Khandwala, Rupali Madan, Nazneen Shaikh, Kushag Patel, Shiresh and Varsha Karrale, Suprabha Raorane and Yash Kohli — firmly believe that Navi Mumbai is blessed with natural beauty, flora and fauna and is the world’s largest satellite city, but has so far not been exposed to larger cultural events like its twin city Mumbai. The team is all set to roll another mega-event in the form of photo-fest after the successful Navi Mumbai Art festival that saw 50,000 footfalls in five days in January 2013.”
