If you’re looking for an experience beyond oil paintings, Sara Shah tells you more about Flight of Fantasy Head over to Cosmic Heart Gallery to witness brilliant artwork from charcoal by Gautam Patole. The artist and charcoal master is showcasing his latest collection of paintings known as Flight of Fantasy. A series of figurative works, the exhibition will take you back to the bygone era of black and white images. Speaking about the exhibition, Gautam tells us, “I’m fascinated by the way Rajasthani women cover their faces. There’s so much beauty hidden in them. However, it also speaks volumes about the restrictions they face under the guise of tradition. Adding a parrot to the painting makes a strong comment on their plight. The masterpiece, Flight of Fantasy, is a painting of a dancer in a rhythmic body movement. But, the painting is not just about the posture there is also a kind of freedom in the posture that the painting symbolises.”
