The story of old Bombay is all about its heritage, its architecture and its people, who have paid witness to the changing times, all the while observing the progress in the background. And, this is exactly what Mukhtaz Kazi has tried to capture in his latest exhibition. He tells us, “Mumbai has always inspired me to express its beauty in the form of my paintings. My aim is to portray the heritage structures of old Mumbai back when it was called Bombay — old buildings over the city that have stood witness to these historical islands for centuries as Mumbai has been transformed into the cosmopolitan hub that it is today.”
