From its stunning ambience to the classy footwear on display, Heel & Buckle is a store that makes you fall in love with its products, says Dev Goswami
Riding up the escalator to the third floor of the Palladium Mall, it was hard for me to miss the store Heel & Buckle; not because they have a prominently placed signboard, but because of its beautiful décor which is visible from the outside. So, my expectations were certainly high as I stepped in.
Heel & Buckle has been done up in a sophisticated and subtle way. You will find footwear for men displayed on one side, while the women’s range is on the other. Their men’s collection is extensive with monotone formals, colourful sneakers as well as a few eye-catching pieces, including a pair of glossy maroon party shoes for Rs 24,800.
Their formal collection is stocked with shoes in the usual black and brown — I liked the finish of the Rad Russel brown pair (Rs 9,800) the best. A pair of maroon shoes (Rs 9,620) with a net design on the surface also looked good. The pair I loved the most at Heel & Buckle was the lace-free orange pair (Rs 8,460); it is eye-catching and also has a funky, two-coloured stripe on the heel.
The women’s section was also impressive with its range of designs which includes classic favourites as well as the latest trends. Women will love the white heels that have an intricate lace detailing (Rs 8,010). They also have a number of heels with embellishments — of those, the black and silver pair for Rs 7,770 seemed worth buying. The not-so-impressive part about the store was their collection of slippers — they were nice, but did not justify the price tag of Rs 6,000 and above.
It is easy to notice that Heel & Buckle is predominately a shoe store, but they do have a few handbags. Unfortunately, the range is limited to about five pieces, so shopping for handbags here doesn’t seem sensible.
The staff at Heel & Buckle deserves special mention; their service is outstanding and is one of the best that we’ve encountered.
