Pope says wants to visit Iraq in 2020
Vatican City:
Pope Francis said yesterday he wants to visit Iraq as early as next year in spite of the security conditions. "An insistent thought accompanies me when I think about Iraq, where I want to go next year, so that it can look to the future through peaceful and shared participation in the construction of the common good," Francis told a Vatican audience.

25 years after murders, OJ says 'Life is fine'

After 25 years living under the shadow of one of the nation's most notorious murder cases, O.J. Simpson says his life has entered a phase he calls the "no negative zone." In a telephone Interview, Simpson told The Associated Press he is healthy and happy living in Las Vegas. And neither he nor his children want to look back by talking about June 12, 1994 — when his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, were killed and Simpson quickly was transformed in the public mind from revered Pro Football Hall of Fame hero to murder suspect.

Islamic State expands reach in Afghanistan, threatening West
Jalalabad (Afghanistan):
The Islamic State group has lost its caliphate in Syria and Iraq, but in the forbidding mountains of northeastern Afghanistan the group is expanding its footprint, recruiting new fighters and plotting attacks on the United States and other Western countries, according to US and Afghan security officials.  

Catholic priest in hospital after knife attack in Poland
Warsaw:
Authorities in Poland say that a Roman Catholic priest is hospitalised in serious condition after a man attacked him with a knife. Krzysztof Zaporowski, police spokesman in the southwestern city of Wroclaw, said the attacker approached the priest early yesterday in front of the city's Holiest Mary church. The attacker has been detained.

Mother collects USD 50,000 by begging online in UAE
Dubai:
An European woman in the UAE has been arrested for conning people into giving her USD 50,000 on various social media platforms by posing as a victim of a failed marriage who was trying to support her children, according to a media report. The woman was apprehend after duping many people with her posts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and made the money in just 17 days, a Dubai police official said Sunday.

Brazil bus accident kills 17
Sao Paulo:
A bus carrying 40 people crashed into several cars killing at least 17 people in southeast Brazil Sunday night, according to firefighters and local media. The fire brigade in the Campos de Jordao area, about 180 kilometers (110 miles) from Sao Paulo, confirmed to AFP that the accident was caused when a bus overturned, hitting other vehicles.
