Nepal foreign minister, Indian envoy oversee preparations for Modi's visit to Janakpur
Nepal's Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and Indian envoy to the country Manjeev Singh Puri today visited Janakpur to take stock of arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the historic and religious city on May 11. Gyawali was accompanied by Puri in the flight to Janakpur in a Nepali Army helicopter gifted by India. "Foreign Minister of Nepal Mr. Pradeep Gyawali flying to Janakpur today with Ambassador Puri to take stock of arrangements for PM Modi's visit in Hindustan Aeronautics' Advanced Light Helicopter.

India-Egypt made steady progress: Indian envoy By Youssra El-Sharkawy
There has been a very steady progress  in the relations of India and Egypt, outgoing Indian envoy  Sanjay Bhattacharyya has said. Hosting a farewell reception at his home, Bhattacharyya and his spouse Ranu invited many Egyptians and Indians at the function. The Ministry of External Affairs had recently announced Bhattacharya's appointment as the next Ambassador of lndia to Turkey after serving in Cairo for three years. Rahul Kulshreshth, who is presently the Ambassador of India to Turkey, will replace him.

Islamic countries call Rohingya crisis 'ethnic cleansing'
A grouping of Islamic countries said Myanmar's treatment of Rohingya Muslims is a "serious and blatant violation of international law" and it is calling for international support in solving the crisis. The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation issued a joint statement Sunday at the end of a two-day conference in Bangladesh, which has taken in more than 700,000 Rohingya who have fled violence in Myanmar since August.

Egypt refers 555 to military court on terror-related charges
Egypt's chief prosecutor has referred 555 terror suspects to a military court on charges of joining a local affiliate of the Islamic State group. Today's statement by the prosecutor says the suspects formed dozens of small militant cells and carried out 63 attacks against army and police forces in the restive northern part of the Sinai Peninsula.
