Will Kapil Sharma still have the same ‘sting’ in his stand-up comedy?

Hilarious but at times outrageous-- funster  Kapil Sharma , whose recent period movie ‘Firangi’ met with a lukewarm response at the box-office, is all set to return with a bang, to the domain which he dominates—‘telly insult comedy’ latest by April 2nd ( his birthday). But after this long hiatus, will Kapil find the same previous level of TV audience acceptance, is what his detractors are speculating. Says a seasoned actor-comedian, requesting anonymity, “ Unless he pulls up his socks, improves his health-conditions and re-invents his Comedy Nites show with innovative content,  it may be quite difficult for me to sustain his popularity. No doubt, his loyal fans are still bound to check him out. But then the new season has to be edgy and superior minus that déjà vu feeling.” In a recent interview, Kapil has promised to come back with renewed vigour and return to the vacant vacuum top slot on Sony TV channel he left behind. “ Comedy is always jogging in my genes and blood, I don’t need to put on an extra effort—apne aaap punchlines nikalte hain,” chuckles Kapil who for obvious reasons, will definitely ‘not’ sign on his third movie so soon.
