After two compelling seasons that made an impact on women, men and young people, Population Foundation of India’s edutainment show “Main Kuch Bhi Kar Sakti Hoon” is being aired with a new inspiring slogan ‘Main Desh ka Chehra Badal Doongi’, on DD National every Saturday and Sunday. The main protagonist of the show charming Meinal Vaishnav (she plays Dr. Sneha Mathur) who plans to tackle fresh issues, including access to hygiene and sanitation, spoke exclusively to The Afternoon D&C. Excerpts:

Your take on the new slogan of the show?
This latest season focuses on the significance of women’s leadership in bringing change. The show will explore the principles of ‘Satyagraha’ and self-empowerment against waiting for change through external support.
Is there any difference between your previous and current roles?
In the third season, my character Dr. Sneha Mathur sets an inspiring example of how women can take up leadership roles within the system. It will be a perfect amalgamation of using entertainment to ensure people’s participation and create a movement.
What special efforts have you made to make your role more impactful?
I am very much in sync with my character as Dr. Sneha Mathur. Reading the script for the new season gave me a better insight on her role in the coming season. It was followed with some discussions with our director and writer which made it clearer.
To whom would you give credit for the success of the show?
To the approach of using entertainment to convey important social messages. The credit also goes to the creative director of the show who has been able to integrate the messages and the rigorous research that has helped make the characters and stories so believable.
Which have been your earlier TV serials and films?
None. Actually, I was 'not' an actor. When I was chosen for this show, I accepted it because it is not just any other entertainment drama. It is a mission-movement determined to change lives for better.

Who is your role model?
Every person who doesn’t give in to the circumstances and chooses to stand against the odds for a greater purpose ----is my role model.

What is your opinion about the sensational “Me Too” campaign?
I think it is every person’s right to live and work in a safe environment. I am glad that the “MeToo” happened. It was long due, not only in the film industry but everywhere. I think “MeToo” has created a fear in the hearts of the prospective perpetrators. Now, people think twice before misbehaving or making lewd advances.
What are your hobbies?
I love reading, travelling and cooking. I think reading is a must for personal growth. I find cooking very therapeutic. It helps me relax.
