Meet ‘gaayika’ Chhavi Pandey

By Chaitanya Padukone

The charmingly pretty actress Chhavi Pandey who plays the strong-headed, betrayed-in-love ‘Prarthana’ in the widely-watched Sony TV daily 9.30 pm show ‘Ladies Special’ has now merited a massive fan-following among both young and old home-viewers.

Interestingly, off-screen, Chhavi has learnt Kathak and is a professional singer as well. She has learned classical music and light music and is a national scholar.

In the episode telecast just the other day, Chhavi got an opportunity to showcase her ad-lib singing talent when she is cajoled by her brother to ‘hum’ a song. Enthuses dainty Chhavi, “The moment I read about Prarthana’s character, I knew I had to do it! Prarthana’s story is of a woman’s inner strength and her self-respect. When faced with adversities, she doesn’t cower in fear. She’s the kind of a lady who rises to the challenge and faces it gracefully.

What is most fascinating about this exemplary special character is that it showcases the true worth of a woman in the way she handles difficult situations. My dynamic rebel character is shaping up to be extremely interesting, with its multiple layers.”

Incidentally, the actor who plays the go-getter pesky male dude who is madly infatuated with Chhavi in ‘Ladies Special’ is none other than cool actor Sahil Chadda who makes his TV debut. Sahil is already a famous face thanks to his presence in ‘ARRived’ on the YouTube .
