Saturday, August 12, 2017

Mumbai: KG ‘Wanted’ (Khar Gymkhana) and JVPG ‘Cue Masters’ (Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana) recorded contrasting wins to advance to the quarter-finals of the Otters Club-Mumbai Snooker League (MSL) – 2017, conducted by the Billiards and Snooker Association of Maharashtra (BSAM).

In the round of 32 matches, Khar Gymkhana trailed 1-2 but they recovered strongly with Sahil Kakkad and captain Harmehr Mago comfortably winning the last two frames to clinch a close 3-2 victory at the Otters Club billiards hall, late on Thursday evening.

Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana cueists enjoyed a good roll and without too much of a fuss brushed aside DG ‘Avengers’ (Dombivali Gymkhana) 3-0.

Meanwhile, Hushang Mazdayasna and Ronnie Daruwalla played stellar roles in guiding DPCG ‘Kamakazee’s’ (Dadar Parsee Colony Gymkhana) to a fluent 3-1 win against Dadar Club ‘Supremos’ in another round of 32 encounter. DPCG won the first frame as Mazdayasna and Cyrus Kyani (+29 handicap)  won the doubles tie defeating Rajit Mehta and Ambarish Gharpure (+33) 84-43.

But the Dadar Parsee side lost the second frame as Malcom Kapadia (+45) was beaten by Mayur Shah (+55) 84-104.
